Miss Universe 2025
On November 4, 2025, during the sash presentation ceremony, a controversy erupted when Nawat Itsaragrisil, the national director of Miss Universe Thailand, publicly reprimanded Fatima Bosch, calling her "foolish" for, according to him, following the instructions of the national director of Miss Universe Mexico , who had allegedly forbidden her from posting content related to Thailand (it was mentioned that Nawat had publicized an unofficial poll for 10 candidates to win a dinner with him). This action generated considerable public controversy. The Miss Universe organization clarified that the poll was invalid and asked Nawat to stop promoting it. The Miss Universe Thailand website continued with the poll and began recording videos with several candidates promoting it. When Fatima was asked to record the promotional video, she said she would ask her organization for permission, which angered Nawat. Bosch clarified that it was a misunderstanding. The incident caused tension and led several contestants to leave the event after Nawat called security to have Bosch removed. Bosch later stated that she felt disrespected, while the previous year 's winner , Victoria Kjær Theilvig , criticized the public reprimand and left the venue. Voting was subsequently canceled.
