Cherilyn Sarkisian, better known as Cher, is an American singer, who is regarded as Goddess of Pop. She is famous for her distinctive voice and styles. Cher skyrocketed into superstardom with her first hit I Got You Babe in 1965. Besides her successful singing career, Cher proved to be also gifted in acting field. Throughout her career, Cher has received up to 285 awards. Most noticeably, she won an Academy Award, A Grammy Award and 3 Golden Awards

BEFORE FAME

Cher was born into an ordinary family, to a truck driver John Sarkisian and a waitress Jackie Jean Crouch. Her mother always loved acting and decided to pursue it. However, she did not succeed. The little Cher began showing her talents on music when she was in primary school. However, during her childhood, she did not know whether she wanted to be a singer, a model or an actress,she just wanted to be famous. 

PERSONAL LIFE

Cher got married to Sonny, a singer in 1963 and then divorced in 1975 after having a child together. After that, she dated some men, in particular, she dated Tom Cruise, an actor superstar from 2002 to 2003. More recently, she is dating comedy writer Ron Zimmerman
