Babar Ali (বাবর আলী) is a Bangladeshi mountaineer and doctor, who became the sixth Bangladeshi to conquer Mount Everest. He conquered Mount Everest on May 19, 2024 at 8:30 am Bangladesh time.

Birth and education

Babar is a doctor by profession. Babar, the second child of Liaquat Ali and Lutfunnahar Begum of Burishchar area of Hathajari, Chittagong, was a student of the 51st batch of Chittagong Medical College. He worked as a public health officer for some time, but he quit his job due to not taking leave during the previous campaign.

Conquer Everest

Babar Ali left for Nepal from Bangladesh on April 1, 2024 AD. After completing the preparatory work, he flew from Kathmandu to Lukla airport on April 4. Then started the journey towards Everest Basecamp. Reached there on 10 April. On May 14, Babur's journey started from the base camp towards the peak. Reached Camp 2 on the morning of 15th May. As planned, after spending two nights there, Babur went up to Camp 3. From there reach Camp 4 on May 18. The upper part of this camp at an altitude of 26,000 feet is called the 'Death Zone'. Babur's journey started again at midnight on 18th May. In the first light of the morning on May 19, the flag of Bangladesh was flown at the top of the 29 thousand 31 feet Mount Everest.
