U;Nee is a South Korean singer, rapper, dancer and actress. Her real name Lee Hye Ryeon was changed to Heo Yun when she first dedicated to stage. She then used her second stage name U;Neeafter her debut as a singer. 5 days before releasing the 3rd album Solo Fantasy, she was found to hang herself in her private apartment in Seo Gu, putting an end to career at the age of 25.

U;Nee went through an unhappy childhood, she had no information about her mother and was brought up by her grandmother after her father died at young age. U;Nee stepped into entertainment industry in 1996 with supporting roles in Grown Ups and Just Don’t Understand. However, her dream was to become a singer. As a result, she debuted as a dance-pop singer in 2003 and harvested numerous success since then.

On January 21, 2007, U;Nee committed suicide because of high depression and pressure rising from fame and personal problems. She left no suicide note but did share on a website that “I feel everything is empty. I am again walking down a path to reach a destination that I don’t know."
