Well known as an American professional wrestler and a retired defensive tackle in Canadian football, Roman Reigns made his main roster debut in 2012 together with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose as part of The Shield. Especially, he was cited as Defensive Player of the Year by the Pensacola News Journal. The 2014 Superstar of the Year Slammy Award and the 2015 Royal Rumble match are considered as his highest awards throughout his career as a wrestler. 

BEFORE FAME

Roman Reigns was first involved in professional football, having played the sport since high school. He became a member of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football team when he enrolled in Georgia Institute of Technology. Then he signed a developmental contract with World Wrestling Entertainment and debuted on September 9, 2010, using the ring name Roman Leakee

Roman Reigns had a daughter in 2008 with his college sweetheart, Jessie, and he went on to marry Galina Becker in 2014.
