Moving from Saturday Night Live (1989-1995) into feature films, including the Wayne's World, Austin Powers and Shrek, the Canadian actor, comedian, screenwriter, and film producer Mike Myers is considered as one of Hollywood's most bankable stars. From late 1980s to present, he has received various awards as well as nominations for his great contribution on acting. Typically in 1989 with Saturday Night Live, he won An Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing in a Variety or Music Program and was also nominated for two other Emmy Awards. However, he recently has received Two Razzie Awards in 2008, for Worst Actor and along with co-writer Graham Gordy Worst Screenplay for The Love Guru.
BEFORE FAME
As a child, Mike Myers appeared in numerous commercials. After graduating from Stephen Leacock Collegiate Institute, Scarborough in 1982, he joined the Second City Theatre in 1986. In the next two years, he moved to Chicago to train, perform and teach at the Improv Olympic. He had made a variety of appearances during 1980s before becoming famous through series Saturday Night Live.
PERSONAL LIFE
Mike Myers and actress and comedy writer Robin Ruzan wed in 1993 and their marriage ended in divorce in December 2005. In the fall of 2010, he got married to cafe owner Kelly Tisdale with a son (born 2011) and a daughter (born 2014).
